Pain

Pain is your body screaming that something is wrong!

Taking a pain killer presumes that the body will correct the problem and the pain will go away in due time.

But what if the pain is brought on by a chronic disorder?

In that case, the pain will not go away until the chronic disorder is resolved.

What are the causes of pain?

Pain is a response to something affecting a nerve.

One possible cause of pain can be spinal misalignment putting pressure on a nerve as it exits the spinal column. In such cases, the pain can be felt anywhere in the body, not just in the back. If you suspect spinal misalignment, I suggest that you see a good chiropractor.

A second possible cause of pain is inflammation of nearby tissue putting pressure on the nerve. If you suspect that inflammation may be the cause of your pain, I suggest that you read my blog on inflammation. You can get to it by clicking here.

A third possible cause of pain is the nerve itself being attacked. It can be attacked by a pathogen or by the body’s own immune system.

If you suspect a pathogen, such as a virus or bacteria, a natural response is to provide your body with products that reinforce the immune system and suppress the pathogen.

Colloidal silver has been recognized for millennia for its ability to fight infection. The Roman army put silver coins in its water supply to keep it pure. Colloidal silver does not kill bacteria or viruses, but it prevents them from multiplying, allowing your immune system to destroy those that do get into your system. AND it does not interfere with the good bacteria in your body. I like RBC Life’s Silver 22 because its nano particle size allows the silver to get to the pathogens wherever they are in the body. I take three to four teaspoons a day when I’m fighting an infection.

Another known anti-pathogen is olive leaf extract. The olive tree is the oldest living organism on the earth. Some olive trees are over 4000 years old. Scientists believe that the reason for their longevity is found in the leaves. They have discovered that olive leaf extract is a strong antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal, and antioxidant. But its taste is very bitter. RBC Life has formulated a liquid supplement that is rich in olive leaf extract but tastes good. It’s called OliViva. I take a half ounce every day for prevention, but up that to 3-4 ounces a day when I’m fighting an infection.

What about the immune system? Whether the immune system is underactive, leading to frequent and lingering infections, or overactive, leading to allergies or auto-immune disorders, it can be brought into balance with VitAloe, Immune 360, and TruAloe nutritional supplements from RBC Life. I’ll write more about these in a subsequent blog.

Inflammation

What is inflammation? Is it a disorder that needs to be treated?

The signs of inflammation are usually swelling, warmth, and sensitivity. The swelling can lead to pain, if the swollen tissue presses against a nerve; or to heart problems, if the swelling occurs inside a blood vessel.

What causes inflammation? Most, if not all, inflammation is the body’s response to damaged cells and tissues. When cells are damaged, immune system cells collect at the site and send out signals for other cells needed to deal with the damage and the possible health threats. Loss of blood? Seal off the damaged area. Infectious organisms? Attack and destroy them. Irreparable cells? Digest them, send the waste to the blood stream and rebuild new cells. This activity floods the damaged site with cells, resulting in swelling and warming of the area.

Inflammation is handled by the medical community as a problem to be treated with drugs, such as anti-inflammatory drugs or pain killers.

If inflammation is the body’s natural response to tissue damage, how about addressing the tissue damage, instead?

“How can I deal with tissue damage?” you may ask.

The answer is simple. Make more stem cells available. Stem cells are the basic building block for the body to repair or replace damaged cells.

“How can I make more stem cells available?” you ask.

Take Stem-Kine®. It’s a plant-based nutritional supplement that nurtures your own bone marrow to make more stem cells available. Up to 100% more. And it works.

You're snoring...

Snoring is common for people who are over-weight.

I’ve been there. And then I lost enough weight so it wasn’t a problem anymore.

But I’m there again. And I hate it when my snoring keeps my wife from getting a good night’s sleep.

Take last night, for instance. I’d been sleeping soundly on my left side for almost two hours when my wife woke me to tell me I was snoring.

It didn’t particularly bother me that she woke me up. But it did bother me that I was snoring.

Even though I’m over-weight again (only slightly, I might add), I hardly ever snore when I’m sleeping on my side. So being told I was snoring was a bit upsetting to me. And I didn’t like her proposed solution—“put another pillow under your head.”  I’ve tried that and I get a pain in my neck when I use another pillow.

I was awake enough to observe that one of my nostrils was totally plugged.

I must tell you—that is not common for me. For the last 12 years, since I began taking daily nutritional supplements, I almost always sleep throughout the night with both nostrils open and clear.

I’ve come to recognize that for me a plugged nostril at night is almost always a sign of sinus problems. Another sign is a cough. If I’m sleeping on my back and I have to cough, it’s almost always due to a sinus drip in my throat. And if I don’t deal with the sinus drip, it WILL develop into a sore throat.

At the first sign of sinus problems, I take about 1500 mgs of vitamin C. I’ll do it again every two hours as long as the sinus problems persist.

I go through the sinus season without any problems while my friends complain about theirs. Yet they are not interested in what I do. They are more comfortable with their drugs.

So last night I got up and took about 1500 mg of Vitamin C. My left nostril opened up within about 10 minutes and both nostrils were open throughout the rest of the night.

I didn’t get another complaint about my snoring even though I didn’t use an extra pillow.

I take a plant-based form of Vitamin C called Phyto-Cee. I find that it works much better than the more common ascorbic acid form.

Osteoporosis recovery

Dottie had osteoporosis brought on by an over-aggressive parathyroid gland.

Her doctor put her on Fosamax, a drug that raises bone density. One of the (side) effects of Fosamax is hardening of the bones, which increases their brittleness to the point where they may shatter on impact.  The medical community calls this osteonecrosis. Osteonecrosis can be a real problem for dentistry, leading to shattering of the jaw when subjected to drilling.

Worrying about the prospect of brittle bones, Dottie chose to stop taking Fosamax after being on it for 8 years. For another 6 years, she was off of all drugs and her bone density was gradually deteriorating, even though she was taking a number of nutritional supplements that support bone density.

Then she added Stem-Kine to her regimen. After only 9 months on Stem-Kine her doctor declared she no longer had osteoporosis.

Hip pain relief--naturally

Charlotte’s hip pain was so bad that she could not sleep on either her right or left side. A nurse-practitioner in a nursing home, she was on her feet much of the day. Reluctant to take drugs, she was taking a handful of glucosamine-chondroitin every day, without relief, so she was looking for a natural solution to her pain. That’s why she came to one of our Stem Cell Nutrition Seminars.

Charlotte is now pain-free even without the glucosamine-chondroitin. She can sleep on either side. She climbs stairs with no pain. And she and her husband once again go dancing.

Charlotte tells all her friends.

(Charlotte promotes an international service that provides a cash rebate for shopping at many brand-name stores. Called Cash-Back Shopping, it’s a way of getting back a little of the money that you spend for just normal living expenses. If you’re interested in this service, notify me and I will put you in touch with Charlotte.)

I want you to meet Morgan

Morgan was one sick man when we first met.

At 49 years old, he had high blood pressure, high blood sugar levels, an open sore on his leg that would not heal, a leaky heart valve, water buildup on his heart and kidney problems. He was in constant pain and took strong pain killers every four hours. He slept in his chair because lying down was too painful. His cardiologist wanted him to have a heart valve transplant, but he was too sick to endure it. His friends believed that he was near death.

When we met, he was working with three doctors who had him on 15 different drugs. Morgan and his wife, Cheryl, were looking for hope. They wanted to know more about the nutritional products they read about in the newspaper, so he called the phone number listed in the article. That’s how we connected and that’s how Morgan and Cheryl started taking nutritional supplements.

His friends were amazed by his turnaround. His blood pressure came down, His blood sugar came down. His open sore healed. The water on his heart drained. He reduced his drugs to only a few and eliminated his pain medication. And he could once again sleep in his bed. Several months after Morgan started on nutritional supplements, his cardiologist declared that he was healthy enough to endure a heart valve replacement, and Morgan and Cheryl agreed to the surgery.

Sadly, Morgan suffered a stroke in the hospital after the surgery, so now he has one more affliction to struggle with. I am so impressed with the positive attitude of both Morgan and Cheryl toward his situation.

Listen to them tell their story here.

What are the causes of aging?

In a previous blog, I've advocated that aging is the result of a growing population of malfunctioning cells, as illustrated in the graph below. Since the body is designed to heal itself, what are the reasons for this?

In the 12 years I’ve been researching natural health options, I’ve run across hundreds of products that claim to be anti-aging.

It may surprise you, but I suspect that many of those claims are probably valid. Why? Because so many factors can cause aging.

I believe that the causes can be grouped into the following categories:

Nutritional deficiencies
Starving your cells of any vitamin, mineral, essential fatty acid, and essential amino acid will cause malfunctioning cells, which in turn will result in one or more disorders. Additionally, certain carbohydrates are critical to an effective immune system.

There are three main causes for nutritional deficiencies:
  • The Standard American Diet is deficient in nutrient-rich foods.
  • Even nutrient-rich foods have reduced nutritional content.
  • Almost every drug depletes one or more nutrients from the body.

An acidic body
An acidic body restricts oxygen  and water absorption by the cells. It also is an ideal environment for viruses, bad bacteria, fungus, and cancer. Vegetables are the primary foods that are non-acidic. Almost all other foods promote acidity in the body.

Accumulated free radical damage
When the body’s repair processes cannot keep up with the rate of cellular damage from free radicals, damaged cells begin to accumulate. Damaged cells perform at sub-optimal levels and the build-up in the number of damaged cells begins to have long-term negative effects that result in symptoms.

Accumulated exposure to toxins
A build-up of toxins in the body’s cells, liver, kidneys, and gut overwhelms the body’s ability to rid itself of the toxins, and symptoms appear.

Chronic stress
Stress depresses the immune system. Chronic stress exposes the body to disorders related to an underactive immune system—frequent and extended infections and cancer.

Decline in the body’s ability to heal itself

  • Hormone production begins to decline about 2% per year about age 25. Hormones control all glandular functions.
  • Stem cell production begins to decline about age 25. Stem cells are the basic building block for cellular repair throughout the body.
  • The ability to buffer excess acidity is depleted about the age of 45, beginning a trend to a more acidic body. Infections and cancer thrive in an acidic body.

Spinal misalignment
Spinal misalignment impedes signals between the brain and the rest of the body. The brain is the control center for the whole body, so if spinal misalignment impedes the communication between the brain and a specific part of the body, that part is likely to malfunction.

A diet high in sugar content
Refined sugar depresses the immune system, which in turn leads to elevated rates of viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections and a higher risk of cancer.

The negative effects of all but the last two can be reduced with proper nutritional supplementation.
